Travel prenuers rings in a startup from Himalayas

Travelprenuers rings in a startup from Himalayas breaking  the stereotypes of startup ecosystem following their passion and trying to build a brand in Himachal.

WoodaysGreenhub is a startup formed in mid-2017 by a group of 4 friends residingin the foothills of Himalayas (Shimla).Riding on the evolution of startup ecosystem in India, the team decided to take the plunge parting from their lucrative corporate jobs and follow their passion around travel.

The journey was not easy as it was a brick n mortar model with initial bootstrapping required and that too starting off a venture not in the conventional tech hubs of India, but their travelprenuer instinct kept them going.

The team consists of four partners, Manoj who has a decade long experience working with Top organizations like Tata, !dea, Aircel, Spice Digital and Videocon. Ajay having masters in business administration has worked with companies like Spice and then kicked off his own venture,Sai Shakti Solutions LLP which deals in Design and Construction especially Hydro power projects and has successfully completed various projects in the challenging sector which was an entirely new ball game for him. Avesh, who again has a decade long experience working with companies like Spice, Intex Technologies and have fair experience around consumer behavior and digital ecosystem. Abhay, a civil engineering graduate has done his M.Tech (Structures) from Punjab Engineering college started his career with SJVNL carries the expertise in civil designs and innovative engineering. He left his lucrative job at SJVNL to start this venture which will serve people as never before.

The First venture under Woodays is “The Village”, a wooden cottage facility experience at picturesque highlands of kufri. The Village is an experience and not just a place. Located in the isolated never land wilderness of Shimla near Kufri, the  hub brings the traveler close to nature ranging from heavenly morning sunrays to serene mountains, the place which speaks with you in its own blissful way, that super clean air that filters out all the city’s dust from your soul, himachali food which will make you chew your fingers , horse ride on narrow village lanes and finally giving you an ad reline push through some exciting adventure activities and finally ending your day with that old good days talk around bonfire in the heart of mountains.

As stated by Ajay ,the whole idea is to give our guests a experience of a traditional himachali village livelihood ranging from cuisines, ambience, bonfires and much more.Going forward, roadmap is to build “The Village” as a brand with presence across various Himalayan tourist destinations filled in with their local flavors wherein each property shall have the best in class unique local experience .Along with this another key focus of the team is to generate employment for the locals villagers by involving them in the startup in one way or other.Work is underway full throttle and the team plans to launch and flag off the resort by early 2018.

The team has a long term plan to work around other corridors as well like agriculture, organic farming once their first baby “The Village” stands on its feet. The idea is to leverage the digital and tech innovations in the field for Travel, Agriculture and other corridors and explore new synergies.
